Start your application now and begin using e-books and other digital resources right away. Then, visit any NYPL location to verify your information and receive a physical NYPL card. This card gives you access to even more from the Library, including physical books and the Culture Pass program.

If you are visiting New York from another state, you can apply for a temporary card with this form. Before your visit, you can request physical materials and schedule research appointments. For additional Library services, you must validate your card in person at an NYPL location within 30 days.
